Hrastovi su simbol dugovečnosti, snage i stabilnosti, i predstavljaju najprepoznatljivije vrste u našim šumskim i urbanim ekosistemima. Oni pružaju dragoceno stanište i hranu za stotine biljnih i životinjskih vrsta, čineći osnovu šumskog biodiverziteta i stabilnosti prirode. Na prostoru naselja Medaković 3 zabeležene su tri vrste hrasta, od kojih svaka poseduje jedinstvene botaničke i ekološke karakteristike.
